It was a day filled with animals, pumpkins and fun for East Meadows second-grade students. On October 18, they visited the North County Equestrian Park and Harward Farms. Through various activities, students learned about the important role agriculture plays in their daily lives. They learned about good nutrition, proper hand washing, and other behaviors that can help prevent diseases. They made bread dough and living necklaces out of wheat seeds. They got to pick pumpkins, take them home and decorate them. These creative pumpkins are displayed at the school. courtsey east meadows blog

The halls at East Meadows filled with Halloween Haunts as students and teachers entered the school dressed in their costumes today, October 31. Family and friends will get to see their creative costumes as they parade around the school this afternoon. After the parade, students will return to their classrooms for parties, games and activities.
